May 4, 2023 | The Motorsport Culture Collective, Aston Martin F1 Team and @cognizant welcomed 30 students from @fmu_official and Nyah Project into the paddock at the Miami International Autodrome at the Hardrock Stadium for a chance to hear directly from team mechanics and strategists. Students also got to meet business leaders and industry experts who shared insights on STEM related careers.

“We had a great time and it was such an amazing experience to go behind the scenes,” said Adrian Oyola (2022 Nyah Fellow).

The event was part of a two-part Make a Mark Conversation Series (Miami and Austin) engaging tomorrow’s diverse/BIPOC STEM leaders from local colleges, universities and HBCUs. Each Converstaion featured a facilitated panel discussion with AMF1 team members, partners, and local leaders to help students learn about opportunities in the field and how to overcome potential challenges they may face in STEM related careers.

Nyah Project founder, Leigh-Ann Buchanan, moderated the Miami panel discussion.

Our Fellows are thrilled to watch F1 with a little more knowledge on how everything works and continue exploring careers in STEM and related fields. Victoria Bofill (2022 Nyah Fellow) added, “Wishing Alonso, Stroll, and the entire Aston Martin team a successful weekend!”

Thank you @astonmartinf1 @motorsportculturecollective @motoringcultureclub @cognizant @f1mia @hardrockstadium for this amazing, once in a lifetime experience.
