Special Projects Fellow - Access Online

About the Organization:

Founded in 2014, Nyah Project’s mission is to clear the pathway to college for underrepresented students by providing training and tech based tools that remove the practical and systemic barriers to higher education. This includes college admissions + scholarship access coaching, leadership development, and transformative fellowships abroad.

Higher education, particularly with college scholarships, not only increases socio-economic mobility, but also fundamentally changes the trajectory of their lives. We believe that access changes lives.

  • 100% of students in our fellows program immediately enroll in college, exceeding national averages by upwards of 40%.

  • Access Online, our on-demand college admissions strategy and skill-building platform has attracted over 50,000 course enrolments and increased the number of students we serve by 560% during the first two years.


Position Summary:

As an integral part of the team, the Special Projects Fellow, Access Online gains hands-on experience in product management, instructional design, and partnership development supporting Nyah Project’s educational technology platform, Access Online, which has gained over 56,000 course enrollments in three years..


Duration:
Minimum of three (3) months, with flexibility.

Hours: Minimum 5 to 10 hours per week, with flexibility based on availability.

Employment Type: Unpaid internship, can be used for class/internship credit or volunteer hours.

Location: Fully Remote, or optional hybrid if based in the Miami, FL area 

Start Date: Immediately

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Learning Content Creation + Management

    • Survey current content (web vs app experience)

    • Create user experience guides (for student users + affiliate partners)

    • Create weekly Community updates

    • Plan and implement monthly Zoom masterminds for users

    • Research new educational content ideas to stay abreast of current trends/needs for college access support

    • Support marketing team with product marketing content strategy and development

  • Product Management

    • Platform updates as needed

    • Weekly Community updates + tips

    • Devise new ways to increase platform engagement and retention

  • Partnership Development + Management

    • Support pipeline management 

    • Follow up with potential and current clients

    • Support with onboarding new affiliates

    • Research new sales and partnership opportunities

    • Provide customer service support for clients/users

  • Support team members to develop and execute project plans and timelines 

  • Assist with proposal writing 

  • Support the data collection and external reporting of outcomes, outputs, KPIs and insights from the test and validation process

  • Prepare and organize relevant collateral, resources, and documents, and provide general communication support for both internal and external purposes

Qualifications:

  • Organization. Excellent research and organizational skills.

  • Education. Undergraduate or graduate degree in progress, or equivalent experience in a related field such as education technology (EdTech), instructional design, UX/UI, product management, and/or B2B/B2C relationship development.

  • Technologically-savvy. Proficient with Google Suite, Asana, Slack, Canva, SquareSpace, Thinkific or other Learning Management Systems (LMS). Advanced computer skills desired.  

  • Communication. Strong verbal and written communication skills with people from different backgrounds. You will be communicating not only with your direct supervisor, but also potentially with students, parents, affiliate organizations (schools, school districts, community based organizations, corporations, etc), edtech startups, and/or funders.

  • Creative. Thinks of new ways to engage users (students) and clients (affiliate organizations) in the platform.

  • Detail oriented. Unswerving attention to detail 

  • Independent. Ability to work effectively in self-paced work environment

  • Can-do Attitude. Highly motivated, positive and helpful attitude
